Murray, Berdych closing in on London semi World No. 2 Andy Murray looks to continue his bid for a Queen's Club title with a victory over Germany's Benjamin Becker. The top-seeded Scot is joined in quarterfinal action by 2nd seed Tomas Berdych, who faces Marin Cilic.

    (1) Andy Murray vs. Benjamin Becker

World No. 2 Andy Murray won his second match of the day on Thursday, having ousted Australia's Marinko Matosevic in straight sets. The 26-year-old Scot needed under an hour to secure a round of 16 victory, 6-2, 6-2.

“I thought the first match it was pretty high standard of grass court tennis. (France's Nicolas Mahut) volleyed extremely well today,” Murray said. “He made a lot of good pickups, and I just managed to come up with some good passing shots at the right time in the tie-break.

“But this afternoon, it was hard to judge. It was so windy out there. You couldn't strike the ball that clean or really go for the lines. You just had to play high percentage tennis.”

Murray is seeking his fourth semifinal berth of the season.

World No. 105 Benjamin Becker is through to the quarterfinal after recording a straight-sets upset over 7th seed Alexandr Dolgopolov. The 32-year-old German is bidding for his first Tour-level semifinal since early 2012.

    (2) Tomas Berdych vs. (5) Marin Cilic

World No. 6 Tomas Berdych holds a 4-1 series advantage over defending champion Marin Cilic. Friday marks their first meeting on grass.

Berdych made the final eight after taking out 16th seed Grega Zemlja, 6-3, 6-4. The 27-year-old Czech held 10 consecutive service games without facing a break point. Berdych looks to reach his 6th semifinal berth of the season.

Cilic advanced to the quarterfinal following his come-from-behind victory over Spain's Feliciano Lopez. The 5th seed dropped the first set before rallying to a three-sets win, 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-5. Cilic will attempt to make his first semifinal since February, when he completed a title-winning run in Zagreb.
