    Tsonga faces must-win for France World No. 8 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga looks to keep France alive against Argentina, as he takes on World No. 19 Juan Monaco in singles competition. The players are slated to contest their fourth career meeting on Sunday.

    World No. 8 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga holds a 3-0 series edge against World No. 19 Juan Monaco. The two last met at the 2011 Masters 1000 Monte Carlo, where the Frenchman recorded a first-round victory in three sets.

    Tsonga earned the first point of the tie for France, having ousted veteran Carlos Berlocq in five sets. The 27-year-old tallied 68 winners en route to a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win in three hours and 53 minutes.

    "We both played with our hearts,” said Tsonga.

    “My objective was to install my game and from the start to make him run, using my (forehand) a lot, and when he was tired my chances increased.

    Tsonga is seeking his 13th Davis Cup singles victory.

    Monaco leveled the tie for host nation Argentina with a straight-sets win over former World No. 6 Gilles Simon. The 29-year-old collected 22 winners and 6 service breaks through to a 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-4 success.

    He is bidding for his 12th singles win in Davis Cup play.
