    Simon, Monaco meet in Davis Cup quarterfinal World No. 13 Gilles Simon is set to face world No. 19 Juan Monaco in Friday's Davis Cup competition. The players are slated to contest their seventh career match for a key point in singles.

    World No. 13 Gilles Simon looks to break a 3-3 series tie against world No. 19 Juan Monaco. The players last met at the 2011 Masters 1000 Paris, where a second-round match went to the Argentine in straight sets.

    The two are level at 2-2 on clay.

    Simon makes his return to competition following a quarterfinal finish at the Masters 1000 Miami. The 28-year-old Frenchman won a trio of matches before falling to Germany's Tommy Haas in straight sets. Simon is 16-7 for the season.

    Friday marks the 8th Davis Cup appearance for Simon, who will attempt to record his 5th victory in singles action.

    Monaco is a modest 2-5 for the year after suffering opening-round losses in his last five tournaments. The former world No. 10 looks to win his first match since early February, when he took two singles points for Argentina against Germany.

    Monaco is seeking his 11th Davis Cup victory.
