Djokovic closing in on Dubai semifinal World No. 1 Novak Djokovic looks to reach the final four at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with a victory over 7th seed Andreas Seppi. The players are scheduled to contest their 10th ATP World Tour meeting late Thursday.

Top seed Novak Djokovic holds a comprehensive 9-0 series advantage over world No. 20 Andreas Seppi. The players last met at the 2012 Masters 1000 Cincinnati, where a second-round match went to the world No. 1 in straight sets.

Djokovic is back on court after defeating Spain's Roberto Bautista-Agut in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6(4). The 25-year-old held eight of 9 service games through 91 minutes of play.

"I think I played really, really well and at a high level throughout most of the match," Djokovic said. "And then I had another poor game like yesterday towards the end, when I needed to close it out with a few match points. At 5-4 he served well, he fought his way through, and I have to give them credit for that. He's a great competitor. I never played against him, so I didn't know really what to expect. But generally I'm feeling quite confident on the court, which is a good thing."

Djokovic is seeking his sixth straight semifinal berth in Dubai.

Seppi is through to the quarterfinal following a straight-sets ousting of the Czech Republic's Lukas Rosol. The 29-year-old Italian remains on course to reach his first Dubai semifinal.

    Prediction: Djokovic in straight sets.
