Berdych takes on surprise semifinalist Tursunov in Marseille Top seed Tomas Berdych will fight for a spot in Sunday's final with qualifier Dmitry Tursunov.

Dmitry Tursunov is ranked outside the top 100 at No. 119. He's spent much of the past year languishing on the Challenger circuit and was forced to come up through qualifying this week to gain entry to the main draw.

His surprise run to the semifinals included wins over No. 4 seed Janko Tipsarevic and a quarterfinal win over Luxembourg's Gilles Muller. This semifinal is his best result in more than a year.

Tursunov will take on the tournament top seed Tomas Berdych on Saturday.

Berdych is ranked No. 6 in the world. The Czech, who was part of the Davis Cup-winning side last year, has had a few close calls this week. Both of his matches so far, against Ernests Gulbis and in the quarters against Jerzy Janowicz, have been three-set battles.

Berdych will go into Saturday's match as the prohibitive favorite. Unless the Czech is suffering fatigue from his long matches this week, he should get past Tursunov in straight sets.
