• Del Potro looks for Rotterdam title

    2/17/13 4:58 AM | Cheryl Murray
Del Potro looks for Rotterdam title Juan Martin Del Potro will take on the crafty Frenchman Julien Benneteau for his first Rotterdam crown.

Last year, Juan Martin Del Potro was just making his way back to the top of the game after a long recovery from wrist surgery. He came out of nowhere to make the finals in Rotterdam, but he fell short to Roger Federer.

This time around, Federer is out of the picture, thanks to finalist Julien Benneteau. The Frenchman has actually gotten close to knocking off Federer before. He was a few games away from a massive upset at last year's Wimbledon, but he was eventually defeated. But on Friday, Benneteau completed the task and followed up the upset with a defeat of No. 5 seed Gilles Simon.

Del Potro is one of the best indoor players on the tour at the moment. He will go into Sunday's match as a heavy favorite, not just because he is ranked No. 7 in the world to Benneteau's 39th, but also because Benneteau has a long history of performing poorly in ATP Tour finals. The Frenchman is 0 for 7 in title matches.

Prediction - Benneteau has proven he's capable of the upset, but the moment might get to him. Del Potro in 3.
