Juan Martin Del Potro will take on new kid on the block Grigor Dimitrov for a spot in the Rotterdam final.
World No. 7 Juan Martin Del Potro will take on red-hot Grigor Dimitrov on Saturday as the men battle to move on to Sunday's title match.
Dimitrov has had a strange start to the 2013 season. The Bulgarian, who is ranked 41st in the world, started off the year with a showing in the final of Brisbane, which he followed up with three first-round exits in ATP tournaments, including an ouster in Zagreb at the hands of Ivo Karlovic. He is now poised to advance to his second final of the season.
Del Potro only played the Australian Open prior to this week; he lost in the third round to Jeremy Chardy of France with a dismal performance. He has advanced in straight sets in each of his matches, but he hasn't been invincible; Ernests Gulbis put him through his paces in round two, though the Argentine eventually won 7-6, 6-3.
Dimitrov is going to have some chances in this match. Del Potro is still the favorite, but the No. 2 seed's backhand hasn't been the lethal weapon this week that it sometimes is. If Dimitrov cleans up his unforced errors, he could come away with one of the biggest wins of his young career.
Prediction - Del Potro in 3.
