    Nalbandian, Chardy in action at Brasil Open Former World No. 3 David Nalbandian is set to kick off his campaign at the Brasil Open with a first-round match against qualifier Jorge Aguilar. The veteran is joined in action by 4th seed Jeremy Chardy, who faces Argentina’s Martin Alund.

    Former World No. 3 David Nalbandian is back on court following a successful doubles effort for Argentina in Davis Cup. The 31-year-old veteran, who made the Brasil Open quarterfinal during his 2012 debut, is seeking his first singles victory of the season.

    World No. 191 Jorge Aguilar will be making his 2013 main-draw debut after failing to qualify in Vina del Mar. The 28-year-old Chilean looks to win his first Tour-level match since 2010.

    (4) Jeremy Chardy vs. Martin Alund

    Fourth seed Jeremy Chardy returns to action after reaching the final four at the VTR Open. The world No. 25 recorded consecutive wins before falling to former world No. 1 Rafael Nadal in straight sets. Chardy is bidding for his 7th victory of the season.

    World No. 111 Martin Alund won his opening-round match against Brazilian wildcard Ricardo Mello, 6-4, 6-4. The 27-year-old Argentina looks to secure his second career tour-level victory late Wednesday.
