    1/11/13 5:29 PM | Kelli DeMario
Ferrer faces Kohlschreiber for Auckland title World No. 5 David Ferrer looks to capture a fourth championship title in Auckland, as he takes on 2008 winner Philipp Kohlschreiber. The players are slated to contest their 10th ATP World Tour meeting Saturday afternoon.

Top seed David Ferrer leads second seed Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 in the series, having compiled a 5-2 record on hard-court. The two last met at the 2011 Heineken Open, where a quarterfinal match went to the Spaniard in three sets.

Ferrer is through to the last match in Auckland after defeating former world No. 7 Gael Monfils in straight sets. The 30-year-old Spaniard needed just 49 minutes to record the victory, 6-1, 6-2.

"For me it is better to have won in two sets and be able to rest for tomorrow," Ferrer noted. "It will be fast and flat and lots of power with (Kohlschreiber's) serves."

Ferrer is seeking his 19th ATP World Tour title and fourth at the Heineken Open.

Kohlschreiber advanced to the championship final by virtue of his straight-set upending of 4th seed Sam Querrey. The 29-year-old German tallied 10 aces through to a 6-4, 7-6(2) win in 72 minutes.

Kohlschreiber, a 2008 title winner in Auckland, is bidding for his 5th ATP World Tour crown.

    Prediction: Ferrer in three sets.
