Murray opens Brisbane title defense on Thursday World No. 3 Andy Murray is set to begin his Brisbane International title defense, as he takes the court against Australia's John Millman. The Scot is joined in action by fellow seed Milos Raonic, who faces Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov.

    (1) Andy Murray vs. (Q) John Millman

Top seed Andy Murray completed the 2012 season with a 56-16 record, bolstered by a Grand Slam winning run at the US Open (def. Djokovic). The 25-year-old Scot has compiled a 6-1 mark at the Brisbane International, where he defeated Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov in 2012.

Qualifier John Millman won his first tour-level match against Japan's Tatsuma Ito. The 23-year-old Australian is seeking his maiden quarterfinal late Thursday.

    (2) Milos Raonic vs. Grigor Dimitrov

Second seed Milos Raonic looks to break a 1-1 series tie against World No. 48 Grigor Dimitrov on Thursday. The players are set to meet for the first time since 2011 in Stockholm.

Raonic finished the 2012 season with a 45-20 record behind a pair of title-winning efforts in Chennai and San Jose. The 22-year-old, ranked world No. 13, is bidding for his first victory at the Brisbane International.

Dimitrov began the event with a straight-set upending of American Brian Baker, 6-3, 7-6(8). The 21-year-old looks to reach his first quarterfinal in Brisbane.
