Brisbane - Hewitt highlights Tuesday evening session Former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt will be in action at the Brisbane International, set to take on former champion Radek Stepanek. The veterans are joined in first-round play by 8th seed Martin Klizan, who faces Denis Istomin.

Radek Stepanek vs. (WC) Lleyton Hewitt

World No. 31 Radek Stepanek trails former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt 1-3 in the head-to-head series. The players last met at the 2012 Masters 1000 Shanghai, where a first-round match went to the Czech in straight sets.

Stepanek enters into this week's tournament on a high note, having propelled the Czech Republic to the Davis Cup title over Spain in November. The 34-year-old will be making his eighth appearance at the Brisbane International, where he captured the championship title in 2009 (def. Verdasco).

Wildcard Lleyton Hewitt makes his return to the event for the first time since 2007. The former world No. 1, who completed the 2012 season with a modest 16-14 record, is twice a champion at the tournament (1998 and 2000).

    (8) Martin Klizan vs. Denis Istomin

Eighth seed Martin Klizan will be looking to win his first match against Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin. The players are set to contest their first tour-level meeting on Tuesday.

Klizan ended the 2012 season with a 19-15 record, having won his maiden tour-level title in St. Petersburg. The 23-year-old, ranked world No. 30 at tournament's start, will make his Brisbane International debut early Tuesday.

Istomin is seeking his first victory since mid-October, when he won an opening-round match in Moscow. The world No. 43 made the 2012 Brisbane International's final eight before falling to Bernard Tomic in straight sets.
