• Ferrer, Llodra collide in Paris semifinal

    11/3/12 1:16 AM | Kelli DeMario
Ferrer, Llodra collide in Paris semifinal World No. 5 David Ferrer looks to continue his bid for a maiden Masters 1000 title, as he takes on veteran Michael Llodra late Saturday. The winner moves on to face either Gilles Simon or qualifier Jerzy Janowicz for the championship title.

Fourth seed David Ferrer leads world No. 121 Michael Llodra 2-0 in the series after winning a pair of hard-court meetings in 2010. Saturday signals their third encounter during a Masters 1000 event.

Ferrer is through to the semifinal following his straight-sets ousting of fellow seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The 30-year-old Spaniard held 10 consecutive service games through 81 minutes of play. He is seeking his 12th semifinal berth of the season.

Llodra advanced to the final four by virtue of his 7-6(4), 6-3 upending of American Sam Querrey late Friday. The 32-year-old Frenchman looks to make his first tour-level semi since February, when he finished runner-up to Juan Martin Del Potro in Marseille.

    Prediction: Ferrer in straight sets.

Good luck David.

Ferrer should win though I think Llodra is dangerous in these conditions

tennis2011 , 11/3/12 4:33 PM

RickyDimon , 11/3/12 6:14 PM

RickyDimon , 11/3/12 6:22 PM

Llodra, who was on fire, burned down in the 1st set.

Augustina08 , 11/3/12 6:27 PM

Is Daveed going for the record for number of breakpoints saved in one match?

ed251137 , 11/3/12 6:29 PM

It would seem Llodra has shot his bolt.

ed251137 , 11/3/12 6:33 PM

Llodra is lying on the ground.

Augustina08 , 11/3/12 6:35 PM

Llodra about to wave the white flag...............that's what the little beast does to you......

rafaisthebest , 11/3/12 6:39 PM

.....but then again, maybe not just yet.......lodra gest one break back

rafaisthebest , 11/3/12 6:45 PM

Except he came back to break Ferrer's serve. lol.

ed251137 , 11/3/12 6:46 PM

delaying the inevitable

RickyDimon , 11/3/12 6:47 PM

Vamos Ferru!!! As far as I am concerned, a Ferru win is a Rafa win...........

rafaisthebest , 11/3/12 6:54 PM

Phew. After the war of attrition in the first set was afraid it would go to three sets and by the time he has played The Tournedo call Jerzy he would be knackered for next week.

ed251137 , 11/3/12 6:55 PM

^^^^ no

RickyDimon , 11/3/12 6:55 PM

One more push, Ferru! Vamos...............

rafaisthebest , 11/3/12 6:58 PM

Augustina08 , 11/3/12 7:06 PM

took a while for Llodra to wake up and smell the coffee

once he did, Ferrer was way too good

good match

RickyDimon , 11/3/12 7:13 PM

Another warm exchange between the two men. There is clearly a good comradeship between those who benefited from the early exit by most of the seeded players.

afranrand , 11/21/12 9:46 PM

So, Ricky, do you mean to say that you cannot delete afranrand's account?

tennisnba called, he wants his incoherence back.

Conspirator , 11/21/12 10:09 PM

It seems the professional spammers are able hack into the system.

But why baa-baa is allowed to run amok with her deranged diatribes is a complete mystery when innocent conversations can be subjected to the delete key instantly.

BTW: You do know I hope that it is forbidden to discuss Mirka's habit of chewing on gum during matches. Twinge and I were once having an innocent conversation on this subject and with minutes it was taken down.

ed251137 , 11/22/12 12:57 AM

ricky is having a kip, gi'e the good lad a break! ;)

croc , 11/22/12 1:46 PM

^^Disgusting wasn't it Ed?
It wasn't like we were suggesting that Mirka was a fat cow or anything!
Quelle Horreurs at the thought of that possibility.

Twinge , 11/22/12 2:12 PM

I was going to suggest a whip-round to raise enough money for him to tackle the spate of spamming comments wrecking the site at the moment. If he's taking a siesta it would be a pity to disturb him so I wont bother ;-)
