    Ferrer opens Paris campaign on Wednesday Valencia champion David Ferrer is set to kick off his Masters 1000 Paris bid against fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers. The veteran takes a 4-0 series edge into the second-round match.

    World No. 5 David Ferrer holds a 4-0 series advantage over World No. 24 Marcel Granollers. The players will be contesting their first hard-court match since the 2011 Masters 1000 Miami.

    Ferrer returns to competition after sealing a title-winning run against the Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov in Valencia. The 30-year-old Spaniard will be making his eighth appearance at the Masters 1000 Paris, where he finished among the final eight in 2005, 2007 and 2011.

    Granollers defeated former world No. 8 Mikhail Youzhny in the opening round, 6-4, 6-3. The 26-year-old Barcelona native is seeking his first round of 16 berth in Paris.

    Prediction: Ferrer in straight sets.
