St. Petersburg - Youzhny opens bid on Tuesday Top seed Mikhail Youzhny is scheduled to begin his run at the St. Petersburg Open against Canada's Vasek Pospisil Tuesday evening. The winner moves on to face American Rajeev Ram in the round of 16.

Former champion Mikhail Youzhny enters into his 12th St. Petersburg Open with a 24-15 season record. The Russian veteran looks to regroup after suffering back-to-back opening-round losses at the Masters 1000 Cincinnati and the US Open.

Youzhny won the 2004 St. Petersburg Open and finished runner-up in 2002 and 2010.

World No. 120 Vasek Pospisil is a modest 2-12 for the 2012 season. The 22-year-old Canadian is back on court following a successful Davis Cup singles effort against South Africa.
