Tsonga, Isner collide in Winston-Salem semi Top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be looking to secure a spot in the championship final, as he takes the court against defending champion John Isner. The winner moves on to face either Tomas Berdych or Sam Querrey for the title.

World No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will attempt to level a 2-1 series deficit against world No. 10 John Isner. Friday marks their first hard-court meeting since 2011.

Tsonga is through to the semifinals after beating 6th seed Marcel Granollers in straight sets. The 27-year-old Frenchman needed just 54 minutes to seal the win, 6-1, 6-2.

"I'm very happy because I played a bit less than the two (previous) matches and also because I played very good tennis. For me it's good. It's good for the rest of the tournament," said Tsonga.

Tsonga is seeking his second championship final berth of the season (Doha, winner).

Isner made the final four following his straight-set ousting of Belgium’s David Goffin late Thursday. The 27-year-old American has tallied 48 aces through three rounds of play.

He is bidding for his 40th win this year.

    Prediction: Isner in three sets.
