  • Kohlschreiber, Baker meet in Wimbledon fourth round

Kohlschreiber, Baker meet in Wimbledon fourth round A surprising quarterfinalist will emerge from Monday's encounter between Philipp Kohlschreiber and Brian Baker. They are looking to take advantage in a section of the draw vacated by Rafael Nadal.

There will be at least one unexpected fourth-round clash on a jam-packed Monday as Philipp Kohlschreiber and Brian Baker are going head-to-head for the first time in their careers.

Baker is the comeback kid of 2012 after missing almost six full years due to injuries. The 27-year-old American reached an ATP final in Nice and he now has four victories in his last two Grand Slams combined. So far at the All-England Club he has taken out Rui Machado, Jarkko Nieminen, and Benoit Paire, losing just one set to Paire.

Kohlschreiber benefited from Rafael Nadal's shocking second-round exit to Lukas Rosol. The 30th-ranked German, coming off wins over Tommy Haas and Malek Jaziri, promptly disposed of Rosol in straight sets. Kohlschreiber, a recent winner in Munich who also beat Nadal in Halle, is an awesome 30-14 for the year.

"It's a great chance for both of us, I think," Kohlschreiber admitted. "If you play in the last 16 and you're not facing Federer, Nadal, Murray, whatever, the big guys, it's a great chance to reach the quarterfinals.... He's played three good matches here, so I think it's going to be a tough one."

With both players in outstanding form this could be one of the tournament's best matches even though adal is unexpectedly not participating. Based on an edge in experience on the big stage, Kohlschreiber in five sets is the pick.

Both guys play with a lot of variety which is a welcome change from the prevalent style.

Didn't get to watch this match. Congrats to Kohl for the win. He's playing good tennis this clay and grass season. Maybe he can surprise us here.

he already has, but he won't get past Tsonga. He is awful vs. Tsonga.

Too bad Brian lost. I was hoping he'd get to the QF and make this a dream year.
