• Dolgopolov, Raonic in Halle second round

    6/13/12 5:12 AM | Cheryl Murray
Dolgopolov, Raonic in Halle second round Alexandr Dolgopolov and Milos Raonic will take the court at the Gerry Weber Open as the field vies for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Alexandr Dolgopolov (4) vs. Mikhail Youzhny

Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny has had a disappointing spring. The Russian’s best result was a quarterfinal showing in Munich back in April. Alexandr Dolgopolov had a good showing at the Madrid Masters, where he made the quarterfinals. He bombed out at the French Open in the first round, but he doesn’t have to worry about playing on clay anymore.

Youzhny and Dolgopolov have split wins at 1 each, but they haven’t played since 2010. Dolgopolov should pull this one out.

Milos Raonic (5) vs. Ze Zhang

Canada’s Milos Raonic has already put in a good match at the Gerry Weber Open. The Canadian served well enough to get a straight-set victory over Philipp Petzschner in the first round.

He’ll take on Ze Zhang of China in the second round. Zhang is ranked 217 in the world while Raonic sits at 21. Raonic is known for his monster first serve, a shot that should work well on the speedy courts in Halle.

A move into the quarterfinals shouldn’t be a stretch for the Canadian, who is likely to get through his second match in Halle in straight sets.

When pressed to nominate dark horses for this year?s extended grass-court stretch Henman singled out Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Tomas Berdych as the best of the rest, with Milos Raonic and John Isner further outsiders.

?Given the nature of Isner?s and Raonic?s game, if they get in a good rhythm on their serve they?re very tough to play against, especially at the Olympics where it will only be best-of-three set matches,? Henman said. 6141339682850642.html

Oddsmakers have Milos as 6th most likely to take Wimbledon behind only Top 4 and Tsonga. Ranked ahead of USO winner Delpo, Wimby finalist Berdych and all around nice-guy Isner.

Wow, still hard to login.

Yes nadline for sure I look forward to today's match.

Hoping Milos can get a milestone win today. You never know! I hope his serve is clicking today and he improves his mental game. Otherwise he won't stand a chance. He should be good going in because he has stretched Fed to three sets the last two times they met.

The match starts around lunch time for me so I might be able to stream some of the match at work during lunch.

Vamos Milos! Vamos Rafa!!!
