• Murray back to work against Giraldo

    6/1/12 10:16 PM | Kelli DeMario
Murray back to work against Giraldo World No. 4 Andy Murray is set to highlight third-round action at the French Open, as he squares off against Colombia's Santiago Giraldo. The players are set to contest their career meeting on Saturday.

World No. 4 Andy Murray leads world No. 50 Santiago Giraldo 1-0 in the series, having won their only previous meeting earlier this season in Barcelona.

Murray overcame lingering back pain during his second-round match with veteran Jarkko Nieminen. The 25-year-old Scot surrendered the first set, then recovered to seal the victory in four sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.

He is bidding for his fourth consecutive berth in the round of 16.

Giraldo upset 25th seed Bernard Tomic in the second round, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3. The 24-year-old looks to reach his first round of 16 at the French Open.

    Prediction: Murray in straight sets.

How will the drama queen fare

tethys , 6/2/12 11:41 AM

Yeah back to office otherwise pack up your bags and go to Queenclub and practice for Wimbledon.

hrsikesa , 6/2/12 1:16 PM

I do not understand those drama queen jibes tbh...............

Why would Andy seek to disrupt the play of someone he has not had any trouble dispatching before? If Muzza had acted up facing Rafa or Nole I would understand..........

rafaisthebest , 6/2/12 2:19 PM

It seems he is suffering from acute back pain .....

hrsikesa , 6/2/12 2:39 PM

he is good to go today

RickyDimon , 6/2/12 3:15 PM

Looks pretty comfortable at the moment

hrsikesa , 6/2/12 3:31 PM

Andy looked mighty fine, posting some excellent winner to UEs and points won on second serve. Perhaps he shouldn't withdraw after all....;)

deuce , 6/2/12 5:27 PM

deuce, I told you...:)

natashao , 6/2/12 5:29 PM

Indeedy you did, nats honey, but Crashquet looks on fire at the mo. Can Andy beat him?
Don't know if Andy can on clay, even when 100%.

deuce , 6/2/12 5:52 PM

Gasquet vs Murray should be a good match Gasquet out hit Hass hit too many winners dont think he can hit that many winners vs murray but Ferrer still looks like the fav to move to Sf from this section of the draw

^^Don't know if Andy can on clay, even when 100%

He beat Gasquet in the 1st round at RG in 2010. If he serves at 70% and plays as aggressively as he did today, he wins. If he doesn't, prepare for a murraycoaster.
