    Ferrer, Gasquet back on court World No. 6 David Ferrer looks to reach the round of 32 at the French Open as he squares off against France’s Benoit Paire on Thursday. The Spaniard is joined in action by fellow seed Richard Gasquet, who meets Grigor Dimitrov.

    World No. 6 David Ferrer holds a 1-0 series edge against world No. 69 Benoit Paire. Thursday marks their first match on clay.

    Ferrer began the tournament with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 defeat of Slovakia's Lukas Lacko. The 30-year-old converted six of 12 break points in two hours of play. He will be looking to record his 35th match win of the season.

    Paire held on to dismiss Spain's Albert Ramos in the opening round. The 23-year-old Frenchman will attempt to make his first round of 32 at the French Open.

    (17) Richard Gasquet vs. Grigor Dimitrov

    World No. 20 Richard Gasquet leads world No. 87 Grigor Dimitrov 1-0 in the series, having won their only previous meeting at the 2011 tournament in Dubai.

    Gasquet opened his French Open bid with a straight-sets ousting of Estonia's Jurgen Zopp. The 25-year-old Frenchman remains on track to win his 21st match of the season.

    Dimitrov downed American Donald Young in the first round, 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-1. The 21-year-old Bulgarian looks to reach his first round of 32 at the French Open.
