    Simon, Wawrinka in second-round action Tournament seeds Gilles Simon and Stanislas Wawrinka are set to contest their second-round matches at Roland Garros on Wednesday. The players will be in action against respective opponents Brian Baker and Pablo Andujar.

    (11) Gilles Simon vs. Brian Baker

    World No. 11 Gilles Simon began the event with a four-sets ousting of young American Ryan Harrison. The 27-year-old Frenchman surrendered the first set, then rallied to seal the match in four, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-1.

    He is bidding for his 29th win of the season.

    World No. 141 Brian Baker recorded a straight-set victory against veteran Xavier Malisse in the opening round. The 27-year-old American improved to 5-1 this season after taking out the Belgian, 6-3, 7-6(1), 7-6(5).

    Baker will attempt to make his first round of 32 at the French Open.

    (18) Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Pablo Andujar

    World No. 21 Stanislas Wawrinka leads World No. 36 Pablo Andujar 2-0 in the series. Wednesday marks their third meeting on clay.

    Wawrinka survived an extended opening-round battle with Italy’s Flavio Cipolla on Monday. The 18th seed gave up a two-sets lead before closing the match in five, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6, 6-2. He remains on course to win his 21st match this year.

    Andujar outlasted veteran Victor Hanescu in the first round, 6-1, 2-6, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. The 26-year-old Spaniard will be looking to post his best result at the French Open on Wednesday.
