Ferrer, Del Potro highlight play on Sunday Tournament seeds David Ferrer and Juan Martin Del Potro will commence their BNP Paribas Open campaigns on Sunday. The players are in second-round action against respective opponents Grigor Dimitrov and qualifier Marinko Matosevic.

    (5) David Ferrer vs. Grigor Dimitrov

Fifth seed David Ferrer holds a 1-0 series lead against Grigor Dimitrov, having won their only previous meeting at the 2011 Masters 1000 Cincinnati.

Ferrer heads into Indian Wells with an 18-1 record following his title-winning effort at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel. The Acapulco tournament signaled the third championship captured by the Spaniard, who looks to win his first match in Indian Wells since 2009.

Dimitrov dismissed Ivan Dodig in the first round, 6-1, 6-4. The 20-year-old is bidding for his second tour-level win of the season.

    (9) Juan Martin Del Potro vs. (Q) Marinko Matosevic

World No. 9 Juan Martin Del Potro is 16-4 for the year. The 23-year-old Argentine makes his return to competition after making the final four in Dubai (lost to Federer). Del Potro will be defending semifinal ranking points at the BNP Paribas Open this week.

Qualifier Marinko Matosevic defeated fellow qualifier Ruben Bemelmans in the first round. The 26-year-old Australian reached a career-high world No. 129 by virtue of his runner-up finish to Kevin Anderson in Delray Beach.
