  • Federer faces Nieminen in Rotterdam quarter

    2/17/12 12:26 AM | Kelli DeMario
Federer faces Nieminen in Rotterdam quarter Former champion Roger Federer looks to reach the last four at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, as he takes on veteran Jarkko Nieminen. The two are set to contest their 13th career meeting Friday evening.

World No. 3 Roger Federer holds a 12-0 series lead against quarterfinal opponent Jarkko Nieminen. The Finn has won just one set from the Swiss through 25 sets played.

Federer received a second-round walkover after scheduled challenger Mikhail Youzhny withdrew. The 30-year-old had little difficulty during the opening round, where he took out France’s Nicolas Mahut in straight sets.

He is bidding for his third semifinal berth of the season.

Nieminen defeated Lukasz Kubot in the round of 16, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(2). The 30-year-old will attempt to win his 10th match in 2012.

    Prediction: Federer in straight sets.

HOPP Roger!!!

P.S.: Have been busy with work. It seems the number of federer fans on TT is getting from few to infinitesimal. Sad to see.

Not only the Fed fans, many of the Rafa and Nole fans are also taking long breaks till their favorites return.

In the meantime, Delpo is in scary form at Rotterdam, he's about to bagel Troicki in the first set. How come I didn't see this Delpo at the AO while playing against Fed there?

Well maybe you're right mani. I heard commentators said that Troicki had a late match yesterday so probably he was tired.

luckystar , 2/17/12 3:32 PM

Well he had 14 hours between two matches ?!?
Once...just once I would like to see Fed in that situation...
