Top seed Andy Murray will take on the No. 3 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov, as the two men compete for one of the first titles of the 2012 season in Brisbane.
It was Andy Murray who ended Alexandr Dolgopolov's dream run at the Australian Open last year. While Dolgopolov managed to take a set in that match, Murray's skill and experience came to his aid.
Murray struggled a bit in the first half of the week, dropping sets in his first two rounds. He's hit his stride at the right time, however. The Scot was impressive against both Marcos Baghdatis in the quarters and Bernard Tomic in the semifinals.
Dolgopolov will have to pit his big first serve against Murray's world-class return game. Both men are in good form at the moment, but Murray seems to be gearing up nicely for a serious run at the Australian Open.
Prediction – Dolgopolov might take a set, but the title should be Murray's.

Such a pity about Dolgo's groin strain from playing Simon. Would loved to have seen him at full bore against Murray. Nevertheless good victory for Murray. Hope Dolgo breaks out this year. Super-talented guy with tremendous potential.

I'm sticking my neck out now...........................Oz2012 is Muzza's.............the way I feel right now, it's ABN (Anyone but Nole)...............sigh. Am so tired of Nole raining terror on my boy..................

Muzz seeded to meet: Harrison, Nalisse, Bogomolov (but watch out forGulbis/Llodra), Monfils, Tsonga (ouch), Nole (oomph) ...
Final? Can't see over Mount Nole right now.
Fed lucky again - if muzz/nole have a bruising SF, he won't get a better chance than this for another slam - Fed's route: Qualifier, Beck, Meltzer, Dolly Mixtures, Fish (or delpo if he shows up, but he's just lost straight sets to baggie), rafa (ifhe makes it that far) ... can you believe it, deuce?
That said, dolly might put him through the mixture, but then, he's injured too, isn't he?
