Group A winner Tomas Berdych is scheduled to play Group B runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga late Saturday, as the players bid for a place in the championship match. The winner will face either Roger Federer or David Ferrer for the title.
World No. 7 Tomas Berdych holds a 2-0 lifetime advantage against world No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, having won both matches on hard courts. The two last met earlier this season in Beijing, where the Czech won a semifinal encounter in three sets.
Berdych came through a must-win match against David Ferrer on Friday, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. The 26-year-old looks to reach his first championship match at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Tsonga qualified for the semifinals after scoring round-robin wins over 8th seed Mardy Fish and 2010 finalist Rafael Nadal. The Frenchman will be making his first semifinal appearance at the tournament.
Prediction: A close match could go either way on Saturday - Berdych in three sets.

This one is too close to call for me. Neither one of these guys is a mental giant. They both have similar games, big serves and powerful groundstrokes. It may depend on who serves better.
Berdy has been playing some great tennis, but he can lose the plot or crumble in pressure situations. Tsonga is notoriously inconsistent and can go hot or cold. I think it should go three sets, but I have been going back and forth with my pick.
I think it should be Berdy, but I have a feeling Tsonga could pull out the win.

Superb! Tsonga needs to get that first serve (53%) in tomorrow to have a chance against Fed though. Tsonga held his nerve well, just hope he manages to get a decent rest tonight.

Tsonga did pull out the win and in straight sets! So my hunch was right. Berdy has gotten some great wins, but has had to come from behind and struggle. He just didn't seem to have it going on today.
Congratulations to Tsonga for a great effort to close it out even after getting broken to even the set! Well done!
