11/11/11 5:19 AM | Cheryl Murray
Andy Murray will look to get one step closer to a fourth consecutive title as he takes on Tomas Berdych in Friday’s quarterfinals in Paris.
Tomas Berdych had to scrape his way out of a tricky third round encounter with Janko Tipsarevic on Thursday. The Czech was down in both the first and second sets before pulling out the straight-set victory.
Andy Murray’s path to the quarters was much easier. The Scot handed Andy Roddick a flat-out drubbing in their round of 16 match. Murray has been the in-form player of the past 2 months, with titles in Bangkok, Tokyo and Shanghai.
Berdych holds a slight 2-1 advantage over Murray. Their last meeting came on the red clay of Roland Garros in 2010, the year Berdych had his major breakthrough.
Expect Murray’s return, which is deadly accurate at the moment, to wreak all kinds of havoc with the Berdych serve. The Scot for the win in 3.

Thank you cheryl. I love this forum and really hope normal service gets resumed.

Thank you, Cheryl.......................hopefully the quality of discourse will improve, at least for a week...............
rafaisthebest , 11/13/11 3:15 PM
Fleur, I've had enough of this. I couldn't give two figs who your favorite player is. I found at least 5 examples on this article in which you deliberately provoked other posters with personal insults. And you keep going and going and going until you get a response from them. You can join your pal scoretracker.
cherylmurray , 11/13/11 7:36 PM
Fleur, I also see that you posted under then username "maxi". Bye.
cherylmurray , 11/13/11 7:40 PM
^^^^^^headshake...........
rafaisthebest , 11/13/11 7:55 PM
OMG the games some people play! Unbelievable!
deuce , 11/13/11 8:02 PM
I hope poor Fleur uses this "probationary" period to seek and receive the help she evidently needs ..............................we do need (reasonable) Fedfans here........
rafaisthebest , 11/13/11 8:12 PM
Phwew. It will be such a relief to be able to voice an opinion without fear of having every word twisted to mean something completely different from what one was trying to say.
ed251137 , 11/13/11 8:23 PM
Thank goodness! I am with ed in being afraid to voice any opinion without fear of my words being twisted to mean something which they are not.
It is my sincere wish that we can show our gratitude by being the best posters we can possibly be. I want to have the great tennis discussions that we have had in the past.
Finally, I just want to say thank you for deleting those posts.
I look forward to London and some great discussions about the tennis.
Nativenewyorker , 11/13/11 8:30 PM
Yes, you two, thank goodness we can all breathe again! Looking forward to some gr8 discussions about tennis from fans of all the players.
deuce , 11/13/11 8:43 PM
No come on NNY, the fedfans are right,
You ARE evil......;-)
Sosueme , 11/13/11 8:45 PM
Do you think Fleur can order a Rosetta stone language course while she's banned?
You know, brush up on her english skills a bit?
Might need more than a week however!
Sosueme , 11/13/11 8:52 PM
Sosueme she's been "outed" as a past poster known as maxi. She is not a second language speaker....or were you just being you..;)
deuce , 11/13/11 9:01 PM
A lot of us were pretty sure of her identity ages ago. Anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of the goading could recognise the techniques and style - including the use of broken English.
NNY: I endorse your sentiment about being well behaved posters from now on. We owe it to Cheryl and Ricky as a thank you for creating this great forum.
How about when anyone starts to retaliate in kind, however blatantly provoked, the rest give a 'Dont Even Go There' warning. And while we are about it, I guess we should also stop using variations on the names of fan groups.
So, onwards and upwards and bring on the tennis.
ed251137 , 11/13/11 9:58 PM
mmmmMaxi!
MAXI!
OMG OMG O_M_G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I'm not sure of the significance of this seemingly earth shattering revelation.
Was Maxi on the grassy knoll perchance?
Do tell me more Deuce!
Sosueme , 11/13/11 10:00 PM
Sosueme,
You don't want to know! I had my suspicions, but kept it to myself. As ed said, there were clues. Also, there is no question that there is a connection with Sienna. I know exactly where they came from. It's not the first time.
ed,
I agree with you about a special warning message every time anyone is tempted to respond in kind. That will help a great deal. If we can stick together and just keep on talking about tennis and not let ourselves get distracted, no matter how hard it is, then maybe we can bring this site back up to the level that we used to have.
We are all knowledgeable about tennis and love it, so that should inform our comments. We have a lot of great matches to look forward to in London and I can't wait. All of our favorites will be in action, so I say bring it on!
Nativenewyorker , 11/13/11 10:25 PM
PS: By retaliating in kind, I'm mean trading personal insults and making defamatory comments about players.
Sosueme: I am not suggesting the creative, witty comments which enliven these pages should be stifled! These and the light-hearated repartee are what make TT so much more fun than the usual fan sites.

During the wait for WTF to begin, take a look through some of the archive blogs that have garnered a high number of comments from around mid-year 2010. They make interesting reading. To get to the archives, which go back to Jan 2008, click on Blog box then on either Cheryl or Ricky and it willl bring up the archive list on the right. Go to the bottom and click on see comments.

You do it again double standards. Why is Ed2123655511 allowed to link myself to Fleur?
It is ridiculous, Having a bad hairday? Just because Fed won a tournement.
Sienna , 11/14/11 1:05 AM
Ed - Please keep Sienna out of the discussion. I've deleted that part of your post.
Sienna - do be quiet. Your childishness irritates.
cherylmurray , 11/14/11 3:20 AM
So is this Scoretracker fellow now gone for good?
It would be a blessing for him & the rest of us if he was.
Such a sensitive soul!
Always taking everything to heart (& all that drama!) maybe its time he got away from the internet completely, as it is clearly all too much for him.
Too big & nasty!
Aww schnookums!
Sosueme , 11/14/11 1:39 PM
For the record, Maxi has also been banned. he/she has posted using the exact same IP address as more than 1 poster, one of whom was banned long ago. What a bunch of garbage. The ban is permanent.

I don't understand why every thread, no matter the topic, has to degrade into "I know you are, but what am I" type arguments. They serve NO PURPOSE WHATSOEVER.
Scoretracker, you've succeeded in getting me FOUR e-mail complaints in two days from 3 different fanbases. I've had enough. You get a one-week ban from tennistalk.
ts38, Sienna and Fleur, you can consider Scoretracker's temporary ban as a warning. KEEP ON TOPIC and stop personally insulting each other. You're acting like children, the lot of you.
