American Andy Roddick, who enjoyed a first round bye, will be in action on Tuesday against Frenchman Julien Benneteau.
Andy Roddick made the quarterfinals in his last two tournaments, including a drubbing at the hands of Roger Federer last week in Basel. Fortunately for the American, Julien Benneteau is likely to be an easier prospect than Federer.
Roddick holds a 4-1 edge over Benneteau with the American’s last victory coming in straight sets at this year’s US Open.
Benneteau will have the edge of playing at home, but his game doesn’t match up particularly well with Roddick’s. If the American serves well, he should get the victory in straight sets.
