Defending champion Roger Federer looks to win a fifth championship title at home, as he squares off against an in-form Kei Nishikori. The players are set to contest their first meeting on Sunday.
World No. 4 Roger Federer is through to his fourth final of the season, having upended fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in the semifinals. The 30-year-old held nine of 10 service games, through to a 7-6(5), 6-2 victory in 88 minutes.
Federer is bidding for his first championship title since January, when he defeated Nikolay Davydenko in Doha. The Swiss will be looking to add ATP World Tour title number 68 to his resume on Sunday.
World No. 32 Kei Nishikori made his second final of 2011 by virtue of a three-set upset of world No. 1 Novak Djokovic. The 21-year-old overcame a slow start to seal a 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory in the semifinals.
Nishikori will attempt to win his first tour-level title since Delray Beach in 2008.
Prediction: Federer in straight sets.

Nice stats. It means that Roger will probably notch his 700th ATP tour match win in Paris. It will be an interesting tournament.

Congrats all you Fed fans. Nishikori put up a good fight but going by the statistics 1st serve %age let him down, we should see more of him in 2012 though as he gains confidence.

Oh goodie! Finally another title.
What a run Nishikori had.

Some tearful eyes at the end of the speech. Just shows how much Roger loves tennis.
After winning 67 titles his 68th title still gives him immense joy and happiness.

Always good to defend the home court. Finally the title drought is over. Hopefully the momentum can continue in Bercy.

My word!
Murray zooming through the Asian swing without resistance `only` defeating Nadal and Ferrer on the way, is nothing more than hype for his chances going on.
Yet Federer gets a cakewalk in his home tournament defeating a deer caught in headlights unseeded player & now some are wondering what Rogers thank-you speeches for Paris, WTF & probably the AO shall be like.
ho-ho-ho,
Its appears cool objective assessments are reserved for other fan's players.
Roger is the TMF after all (although I'm not too sure what that means)!
he-he-he!

Speaking for myself, I think roger has good chances at winning the Paris masters.
After the Paris masters we can have a good idea about Roger's chances for he WTF, especially if he meets murray or djokovic.
The AO is always a bit of a mistery because it's in the start of the tennis season. It's no surprise that there have been some unexpected finalists and winners at the AO Open.
Roger has made 8 consecutive semi finals at the AO so I expect him to reach at least that stage.

bleck prep for AU started last week.
Last year Roger was playing a lot more leading up to WTF. I am sure his rest will pay of providing he stays injury free of course, but I am sure he'll be planning alreadywhere hewill train for AU open etc. I believe AU Open ios a great shot for him with Djoker wobbling with health and Nadal in mental dip. I believe Fed/Murray are in a very good place for WTF and are set to come out guns blazing in januari. As far as I see it Djoker and Nadal need to catch up, but there fans and hopefully themselves think they are still in charge.
