Tournament seed Viktor Troicki is set to begin his run in Basel early Monday, as he squares off against Marcos Baghdatis. Jurgen Melzer will be in first-round action as well, ready to take on wildcard Donald Young.

World No. 17 Viktor Troicki trails first-round opponent Marcos Baghdatis 1-2 in the series. The players last met earlier this season in Kuala Lumpur, where the Cypriot posted a victory in straight sets.
Troicki returns to competition following a runner-up finish to countryman Janko Tipsarevic in Moscow. The 2010 Basel semifinalist is bidding for his 40th match win of the year.
Baghdatis is a modest 26-26 for the 2011 season, after making the round of 16 in Vienna. The former world No. 8 has performed well in Basel, having reached the semifinals or better in two of three attempts.
Jurgen Melzer vs. (WC) Donald Young
World No. 26 Jurgen Melzer holds a narrow 2-1 series edge against wildcard Donald Young. Monday signals their second meeting of the season.
Melzer makes his return to action following a quarterfinal finish in Vienna (lost to Anderson). The 30-year-old veteran looks to win his first match in Basel.
The 43rd-ranked Young will attempt to record his 20th victory of the season. The 22-year-old American is set to make his Basel debut late Monday.
