Janko Tipsarevic looks to reach the Kremlin Cup final on Saturday, as he takes to the court against former champion Nikolay Davydenko. The winner will face either defending champion Viktor Troicki or Jeremy Chardy for the title.
(1) Janko Tipsarevic vs. (4) Nikolay Davydenko
Top seed Janko Tipsarevic trails semifinal opponent Nikolay Davydenko 2-1 in the series. The players last met earlier this season in Kuala Lumpur, where the Serbian scored a victory via retirement.
Tipsarevic reached the final four after taking out 6th seed Dmitry Tursunov in straight sets. He is bidding for his fourth ATP World Tour final of the season.
Davydenko defeated qualifier Michael Berrer in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-2. The 30-year-old veteran looks to make his first final since Munich.
(2) Viktor Troicki vs. (Q) Jeremy Chardy
Defending champion Viktor Troicki will attempt to break a 1-1 series tie with qualifier Jeremy Chardy. Saturday signals their first meeting on hard-court.
Troicki survived a marathon quarterfinal with 5th seed Alex Bogomolov, having outlasted the American in three tiebreak sets. The 25-year-old tallied 23 aces through three hours and 38 minutes of play. He remains on course to make his second final of the season.
Chardy dismissed Philipp Kohlschreiber in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 6-3. The 24-year-old Frenchman aims to reach his first tour-level final in more than two years.
