    10/21/11 12:57 AM | Kelli DeMario
Troicki, Davydenko look toward Moscow semifinals Defending champion Viktor Troicki is set to highlight quarterfinal play at the Kremlin Cup, as he faces Alex Bogomolov Jr. Former world No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko will take on qualifier Michael Berrer for a semifinal spot.

    (2) Viktor Troicki vs. (5) Alex Bogomolov Jr.

World No. 16 Viktor Troicki leads quarterfinal opponent Alex Bogomolov 1-0 in the series, having won their only previous meeting in 2008.

Troicki advanced to the final eight by virtue of his straight-set victory over Pere Riba of Spain. The 25-year-old is bidding for his fourth semifinal berth of the season.

Bogomolov held on to oust Mikhail Kukushkin in the round of 16, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. The 28-year-old will attempt to make his first semi since late July, when he reached the final four in Los Angeles.

    (4) Nikolay Davydenko vs. (Q) Michael Berrer

Fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko holds a 3-1 lifetime edge against qualifier Michael Berrer. The players last clashed at the 2010 tournament in Dubai, where the German recorded a win via retirement.

Davydenko passed into the quarterfinal after taking out wildcard Teymuraz Gabashvili in straight sets. The three-time Kremlin Cup champion looks to win his 24th match of the year.

Berrer rallied to upset 8th seed Andreas Seppi in the round of 16, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. The veteran remains on track to book his second semi in 2011 (finalist, Zagreb).
