Kremlin Cup seed Andreas Seppi will commence his effort at the tournament, as he takes to the court against Russian Igor Andreev. The two are set to contest their 9th career meeting late Monday.
(8) Andreas Seppi vs. Igor Andreev
World No. 52 Andreas Seppi trails first-round opponent Igor Andreev 3-6 in the head-to-head series. The players last met earlier this season in Bucharest, where the Italian recorded a three-set victory. The Russian lead 2-0 on hard-court.
Seppi makes his return to the ATP World Tour after a successful bid on the Challenger Tour. He is 19-20 for the season, after reaching the final eight in Bucharest. Monday signals his first appearance at the Kremlin Cup.
World No. 114 Igor Andreev looks to rebound following a first-round loss to Donald Young in Bangkok. The 2005 Kremlin Cup champion is a modest 16-26 for the season.
Karol Beck vs. (WC) Teymuraz Gabashvili
World No. 103 Karol Beck will attempt to level the series with Teymuraz Gabashvili on Monday. The veteran trails 0-1, having lost their only previous meeting at the 2009 Kremlin Cup.
Beck has struggled to win matches since making the third round at Wimbledon. The 29-year-old fell in the first round in Newport, the US Open and Bangkok. He will attempt to regroup after an unsuccessful pass through qualifying rounds in Tokyo.
World No. 126 Teymuraz Gabashvili is back on court after a first-round exit in Beijing. The 26-year-old, set to take part in his 8th Kremlin Cup, remains on course to win his 10th Tour-level match this year.
