American Andy Roddick will be in action on Thursday against Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.
Last week in Beijing, Andy Roddick had a dreadful showing, losing in the first round to Kevin Anderson. He has made amends somewhat in Shanghai with a straight-set win over Grigor Dimitrov. Unfortunately for Roddick’s camp, the American’s form was still off. His serve in particular wasn’t clicking, and without that weapon, Roddick is in constant danger of being upset.
Almagro has had an equally tough time of late. The Spaniard also lost in the first round in Beijing to Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny.
The surface should favor Roddick, as Almagro generally prefers to play on clay, but if the American’s serve is not firing Almagro will have a good chance of advancing to the quarterfinals.
Prediction – Roddick in 3.

Roddic/Almagro played a very clean match, which helped roddick to string 3 matches together since the USO. Hopefully, Roddick can get past Ferrer. However, at the moment, ferrero seems ot be in control. For selfish reasons I'd like to see JCF win.
