Tournament seed Viktor Troicki will begin his run in Shanghai as he takes to the court against American qualifier Ryan Harrison. Thomaz Bellucci is also in first-round action, set to take on Dmitry Tursunov.

World No. 16 Viktor Troicki leads qualifier Ryan Harrison 1-0 in the series, having won their only previous meeting earlier this season in Washington.
Troicki returns to competition following a first-round loss to Bernard Tomic in Tokyo. The 25-year-old enjoyed a more successful run in Kuala Lumpur, where he advanced to the semifinals. Troicki is bidding for his 37th victory of the season.
World No. 79 Harrison looks to regroup after suffering a string of three opening-round losses. The 19-year-old American will attempt to win his first match since Winston-Salem.
Thomaz Bellucci vs. Dmitry Tursunov
World No. 35 Thomaz Bellucci looks to rebound following a first-round loss to former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero in Beijing. The 23-year-old Brazilian remains in search of his first ATP World Tour victory since Canada.
World No. 41 Dmitry Tursunov is a modest 16-13 for the season. The Russian veteran will be making his Shanghai debut early Tuesday.
