World No. 28 John Isner will attempt to win his second title of the season, as he squares off against veteran qualifier Julien Benneteau. The players are set to contest their first meeting early Saturday.
Fourth seed John Isner advanced to the Winston-Salem final by virtue of his straight-set ousting of top seed Andy Roddick. The 26-year-old held 10 of 11 service games through to a 7-6(7), 6-4 semifinal victory. He has tallied 47 aces en route to the last match of the tournament.
Isner is bidding for his second championship title this year, after securing his first in Newport.
World No. 113 Julien Benneteau survived a strong test in the quarterfinal, having rallied to defeat 10th seed Robin Haase. The veteran dropped the opening set, then regrouped to take the next two in tie-breaks.
Benneteau looks to capture his first ATP World Tour title on Saturday.
Prediction: Isner in straight sets.
