Top seed Andy Roddick looks to reach the final match in Winston-Salem, as he takes to the court against fellow American John Isner. Joining the players in semifinal action is Robin Haase, who faces qualifier Julien Benneteau.
(1/WC) Andy Roddick vs. (4) John Isner
World No. 21 Andy Roddick leads semifinal opponent John Isner 3-1 in the series. The players last met this year at Indian Wells, where the top seed scored a straight-set victory.
Roddick advanced to the final four after taking out 7th seed Juan Monaco in the quarterfinal, 6-1, 6-4. The 28-year-old is bidding for his first final since February, when he put together a title-winning run in Memphis.
World No. 28 John Isner rallied to oust 8th seed Marcos Baghdatis in the quarterfinal. The 26-year-old remains on course to make his third final this season.
Prediction: Roddick in three sets.
(10) Robin Haase vs. (Q) Julien Benneteau
Tenth seed Robin Haase trails qualifier Julien Benneteau 0-1 in the series, as the players enter the quarterfinal. Friday signals their first hard-court meeting.
Haase passed into the semifinal following his 6-4, 6-4 win against 3rd seed Alexandr Dolgopolov. The 24-year-old will attempt to reach his second final this season (Kitzbuhel, champion).
World No. 113 Julien Benneteau survived a difficult quarterfinal, having rallied to dismiss 9th seed Sergiy Stakhovsky. The French veteran aims to reach his first Tour-level final of the year.
