Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will take to the court in a replay of the Wimbledon quarterfinal that saw Federer upended.
The last time Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga met, Federer enjoyed a 2 sets to love lead on Wimbledon’s Centre Court. Tsonga made an unlikely comeback to take the match in 5 sets.
Federer will get a chance to avenge that loss on Thursday. He will face a Tsonga that has held onto the momentum of Wimbledon. The Frenchman has played well in Montreal so far. Tsonga had an excellent win over Bernard Tomic of Australia in round 2.
Federer hasn’t been tested much yet. He faced Canadian wildcard Vasek Pospisil in the second round, a match he won in straight sets. But Tsonga will be a different matter altogether.
The two men have actually played once before in Montreal; incidentally the only other match Tsonga has taken from the Swiss man.
Prediction – Tsonga could make life difficult for Federer, but the Swiss should pull out the win in the end.

The only thing bothering me about Nadals second round loss is the fact that Fed plays in the midle of my REM sleep. I've learnt on this site that Nadal always get the late starts, him being out means Fed has to stap in and save the day. So it is really not doable for me to stay awake.

Keymatch for Federer. I am sure he will be up for it. No funny stuff and give away 2-0 sets or 5-1 final set.
