World No. 1 Djokovic headlines Tuesday evening session Top seed Novak Djokovic will begin his bid for another title this season, as he takes to the court against veteran Nikolay Davydenko. The players are set to contest their sixth meeting Tuesday night.

World No. 1 Novak Djokvovic leads Nikolay Davydenko 3-2 in the series, having captured all three match wins on hard-court. The two will be meeting for the first time since 2009.

Djokovic makes his return after taking the Wimbledon title in early July. The 24-year-old has compiled a 48-1 record this season, aided by collection of 8 title-winning runs. He is bidding for his second Rogers Cup championship this week (winner, 2007).

Former World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko defeated qualifier Flavio Cipolla in the first round, 6-3, 6-3. The 30-year-old Russian looks to win consecutive matches for the first time since late April.

    Prediction: Djokovic in straight sets.

I love Davydenko. I wish he was playing someone else, anyone else, I want him to win every match he plays until he retires. I dont know there's something about him that I quite like..

Meanwhile, Djokovic might actually lose his first match as #1.

I find it hard to believe Davy can play like THIS yet lose to virtually unknown players.

First set 7-5 to Djokovic. First time Nole's won a set and I'm not happy. Davy deserved that one, bummed!
