Former World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko will be in opening-round action in Montreal, set to face qualifier Flavio Cipolla of Italy. The Russian is joined by Marin Cilic, who faces Andreas Seppi.

Nikolay Davydenko looks to rebound after a third-round defeat to Fernando Verdasco in Washington DC. The 30-year-old Russian is 15-16 for the season, aided by a title-winning effort in Munich. He is twice a quarterfinalist at the Rogers Cup.
Qualifier Flavio Cipolla makes his hard-court return on Monday, following a second-round loss to Dmitry Tursunov in Washington DC. The 27-year-old Italian is set to contest his first Rogers Cup.
Prediction: Davydenko in straight sets.
Marin Cilic vs. Andreas Seppi
Marin Cilic trails Andreas Seppi 3-4 in the series, as the players enter into their first-round match. Monday marks their fifth encounter on hard-court.
Cilic returns to action after reaching the final in Umag. The 22-year-old made the championship match at the tournament, before falling to Alexandr Dolgopolov in three sets. Cilic is bidding for his first Rogers Cup victory since 2008.
Andreas Seppi will make the transition from clay to hard-court, having advanced to the Kitzbuhel quarterfinal last week. The Italian won consecutive matches prior to his quarterfinal clash with eventual winner Robin Haase. Seppi will attempt to win his first match in Canada on Monday.
Prediction: Cilic in three sets.
