Former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero looks to reach the final four at the Mercedes Cup, as he takes to the court against fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers. The players are set to contest their third meeting on Friday.

Juan Carlos Ferrero leads compatriot Marcel Granollers 2-0 in the series, having won both matches on clay.
Ferrero advanced to the quarterfinal, following his three-set victory over third seed Mikhail Youzhny. After dropping the opening set, the veteran rallied to close the match in two hours and 16 minutes. The 31-year-old is bidding for his first semifinal since July 2010.
World No. 52 Granollers defeated Frenchman Benoit Paire in the round of 16, 6-4, 7-5. The 25-year-old Spaniard will attempt to book his first semifinal of the season.
Santiago Giraldo vs. (WC) Lukasz Kubot
World No. 61 Santiago Giraldo trails wildcard Lukasz Kubot 0-1 in the series, entering into the quarterfinal. Friday marks their first meeting on clay.
Giraldo made the final eight after rallying to oust Jeremy Chardy of France, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4. The 23-year-old remains on course to reach his second semifinal of the season (Santiago, finalist).
World No. 69 Kubot dismissed 8th seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the round of 16, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. The 29-year-old veteran looks to make his first Tour-level semi since February 2010.
