Defending champion Thomaz Bellucci is set to continue his Movistar Open title defense, as he squares off against Rui Machado on Wednesday. The Brazilian is joined in round of 16 action by Tommy Robredo, who faces Ricardo Mello.

World No. 31 Thomaz Bellucci is bidding for his second quarterfinal of the season, having advanced to the same stage in Auckland. The 23-year-old made a strong start to his Santiago defense, as he downed veteran Filippo Volandri Monday afternoon, 6-2, 6-2.
World No. 87 Rui Machado secured his first win in 2011, after crushing Chilean wildcard Felipe Rios in the first round, 6-2, 6-0. The 26-year-old looks to extend his debut effort at the Movistar Open on Wednesday.
Prediction: Bellucci in straight sets.
(6) Tommy Robredo vs. Ricardo Mello
Sixth seed Tommy Robredo leads round of 16 opponent Ricardo Mello 1-0 in the series. The players are slated to meet for the first time since Vienna in 2005.
Robredo rallied from a set down to record a first-round victory over Frederico Gil of Portugal. The Spaniard trailed 2-6, 0-40, but fought his way through to a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 success in an hour and 52 minutes. With a win on Wednesday, the 28-year-old is through to his first quarterfinal since September of last year.
World No. 77 Ricardo Mello held on to defeat Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in the first round, 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(6). The 30-year-old Brazilian veteran, taking part in his third Movistar Open, will attempt to book his first Tour-level quarter in nearly a year.
Prediction: Robredo in three sets.
