Brisbane - Fish, Baghdatis highlight Wednesday competition Tournament seeds Mardy Fish and Marcos Baghdatis will headline the night session at the Brisbane International on Wednesday, as they take on respective opponents Lukasz Kubot and former title winner Radek Stepanek.

    (4) Mardy Fish vs. Radek Stepanek

Fourth seed Mardy Fish will be looking for his first win against 2009 Brisbane champion Radek Stepanek Wednesday night. The world No. 16 trails 0-3 in the series, having lost a trio of US-based hard-court matches to the veteran Czech.

Fish captured his first victory at the Brisbane International with a 6-1, 6-4 success over French qualifier Adrian Mannarino.

World No. 62 Stepanek rallied to win his first-round match against Tobias Kamke Tuesday afternoon, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4. The 32-year-old, taking part in his 6th Brisbane International, looks to continue his comeback after an injury-plagued 2009 season.

Prediction: A much-improved Fish for the win in three sets.

    (5) Marcos Baghdatis vs. Lukasz Kubot

Fifth seed Marcos Baghdatis and Lukasz Kubot are set for a first-time tour-level meeting on Wednesday. The two have previous battled on the Challenger Tour, with Kubot earning a straight-set victory on clay in 2009.

Baghdatis, ranked world No. 20, is contesting his third appearance at the Brisbane International. The 25-year-old Cypriot secured a first-round win on Tuesday, after rallying to beat veteran Florent Serra, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

World No. 70 Kubot made a successful 2011 Brisbane International debut, following his 6-2, 6-2 win against German Daniel Brands. The 28-year-old will attempt to reach his first Tour-level quarterfinal since last spring.

    Prediction: Baghdatis in straight sets.
