World No. 4 Robin Soderling will face World No. 5 Andy Murray in round-robin competition at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals on Sunday. The players are set to contest their fifth career meeting.
Fourth seed Robin Soderling looks to break a 2-2 series tie with fifth seed Andy Murray Sunday afternoon. The two last met this season at Indian Wells, where the Swede won a quarterfinal clash in straight sets.
Soderling enters into his second consecutive ATP World Tour Finals with a 56-20 season record. The 26-year-old is a career-high World No. 4, aided by a recent championship finish in Paris. Soderling made the 2009 London semifinal before falling to Juan Martin Del Potro, 7-6(1), 3-6, 6-7(3).
World No. 5 Andy Murray is bidding for his 45th victory of the year. The 23-year-old makes his return to play after a quarterfinal loss to Gael Monfils in Paris. The 2010 Shanghai winner will make his third straight appearance in London on Monday.
Prediction: Tough opener for both players, especially Murray, who has struggled in back-to-back tournaments. Should be close, with the Scot finding a way to win in three sets.

2flow I too agree that this will be a closely fought match, but I have to pick Soderling prevailing in a three setter just want the doubles to finish quickly so we can get to this match

Very apt comment from Tim Henman: if Soderling loses this game we might see the toys coming out of the pram. lol

The toys did come out of the pram because Sod did not attend Moya's presentation.
I just think Sod is so over-rated; OK so he won Paris, but even though the other top players were there apart from Rafa, that just didn't prove anything, so he had one good tournament, so what? If he does it time and time again, then maybe I'll begin to take notice.

Well it looks like Murray brought his A game today. Nothing Soderling tried had much effect. Looked totally lost at the net as Murray zinged passing shot after passing shot past his face.
I'd like to see Murray go undefeated this year, but Federer and Ferrer won't roll over, there's more great tennis to come!

ed: loved that comment too! Thought Tim was rather good but AC does not sail my boat!

This is contradictory, if this match is especially tough for Murray, he should be losing in 3. I'm predicting the latter.
