Fish on track to reach Newport semifinal Fifth seed Mardy Fish remains on course to book a spot in the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Championships on Friday. The American will be in quarterfinal-round action against Frank Dancevic of Canada.

    (5) Mardy Fish vs. Frank Dancevic

Mardy Fish will be looking to record his second career-victory over quarterfinal opponent Frank Dancevic Friday afternoon. The players last met at the 2009 Delray Beach event, where a round of 32 win went to the American in straight sets. The World No. 79, who finished runner-up to compatriot Sam Querrey at Queen’s Club, captured early-round successes against Michael Russell and Somdev Devvarman this week. The 28-year-old is bidding for his first Newport semifinal since his tournament debut in 2000.

World No. 336 Frank Dancevic advanced to the quarterfinal after posting straight-set victories over Marc Gicquel and wildcard Nicolas Mahut. The 25-year-old Canadian, continuing his comeback from a serious back injury, holds a 2-1 record at Tour level this season.

(WC) Ryan Harrison vs. (Q) Richard Bloomfield

First-time ATP World Tour quarter-finalists Ryan Harrison and Richard Bloomfield are set to battle for a place among the final four on Friday. The two met previously during a Futures event in California, where Harrison rallied to win in three sets.

The 18-year-old American wildcard, ranked World No. 262, began his Newport debut with a 6-1, 6-2 ousting of 6th seed Karol Beck. Harrison defeated 17-year-old American Denis Kudla in round two, 7-5, 7-6(5).

World No. 552 Richard Bloomfield enters into the quarterfinal with a 2-0 season record, having pocketed wins over Christophe Rochus and 2nd seed Santiago Giraldo. Prior to his two match-victories in Newport, the 27-year-old had not won a Tour-level contest since Wimbledon 2006.
