Benjamin Becker and Janko Tipsarevic will battle for a place in the 's-Hertogenbosch title match on Friday. The other semifinal will be contested by Xavier Malisse and Sergiy Stakhovsky.
(8) Benjamin Becker vs. (7) Janko Tipsarevic
The UNCIEF Open--and grass courts in general--always seems to bring out the best in Becker, who is the defending champion. The 48th-ranked German now stands one win away from making a return trip to the final, and he is enjoying the kind of form that just might get him there. After reaching the Halle semifinals last week, Becker has taken out Jarkko Nieminen, Henri Kontinen, and Simon Greul.
Standing in his way is Tipsarevic, the only other seeded player remaining. The 51st-ranked Serb earned his spot in the semis by dismissing Jeremy Chardy, Arnaud Clement, and Peter Luczak. Like Becker, Tipsarevic is also a stellar grass-court player and he is accustomed to success at Wimbledon. This looks like a tossup, but look for Becker to take the first-ever meeting between the two players in three sets.
Xavier Malisse vs. Sergiy Stakhovsky
Malisse and Stakhovsky will be going head-to-head for the second time in their careers when they square off in the 's-Hertogenbosch semifinals on Friday. Their only previous encounter came last year in a clay-court Davis Cup clash, with Stakhovsky going on the road in Belgium to defeat Malisse 6-3, 3-6, 0-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Stakhovsky is looking tough to beat this time around as well. The 71st-ranked Ukrainian has not dropped a set this week in victories over Kristof Vliegen, Igor Sijsling, and Santiago Giraldo. Malisse, however, took out Novak Djokovic last week at Queen's Club and has defeated Rajeev Ram, Daniel Brands, and Alejandro Falla at this event. The veteran Belgian in three tight sets is the pick.

clayking: why not? Cos it's Wimbledon. Having said that, I'm not convinced Fed wins the trophy but am convinced he's gonna raise his game.

well,
of course fed winning is 100 times more probable than tipsy..
but given fed's form, one can expect anything..
