Defending champion Andy Murray is scheduled to join fellow seed Marin Cilic in round of 16 play at the AEGON Championships on Thursday. The two are slated to take on respective opponents Mardy Fish and Michael Llodra.
(3) Andy Murray vs. Mardy Fish
World No. 4 Andy Murray holds a slender 3-2 series edge over Mardy Fish heading into their round of 16 battle. The American defeated the Scot the last time they took to the court, recording a 6-4, 6-4 round of 64 victory at the 2010 Masters 1000 Miami. Murray won their only previous meeting on grass, having posted a 7-5, 6-3 quarterfinal win during his run to the 2009 Queen’s Club title.
The 23-year-old began the week with a solid performance on Tuesday, ousting Ivan Navarro in straight sets, 7-6(8), 6-3. Murray looks to secure his fourth quarterfinal berth of the season, adding to final eight finishes at the Australian Open, Indian Wells and Madrid.
World No. 90 Mardy Fish commenced his seventh Queen’s Club tournament with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Somdev Devvarman in the first round. The American veteran upended 13th seed Santiago Giraldo 7-6(5), 6-2 to reach the round of 16. Fish is bidding for his first quarter since Delray Beach in late February.
Prediction: Fish plays very well on grass, and could trouble Murray if he has a good day. With crowd support on his side, the Scot must handle the American’s serve to win. Murray in three sets.
(5) Marin Cilic vs. (12) Michael Llodra
World No. 12 Marin Cilic avoided a repeat of his early exit in 2009 after taking out tricky qualifier Nicolas Mahut in the second round. The 21-year-old rallied to dismiss the Frenchman in three sets, 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-2. Cilic, who reached the final eight in his 2007 Queen’s Club debut, will attempt to make his sixth quarterfinal of the season.
Veteran Frenchman Michael Llodra came through the first two rounds without dropping a set. The 12th seed is 11-10 for the year, remaining on course to book his first quarter since his championship success in Marseille. The 30-year-old has yet to pass beyond the Queen’s Club round of 16 in five previous attempts.
Prediction: Cilic needs to control his mistakes, particularly on the forehand side. Provided he returns well, the fifth seed should move on in two close sets.

Too much power in the umpire's hands. What is this ridiculous business about Fish convincing him to stop play? Shouldn't that be a mutual decision by both players?

Cilic is out and Murray is 0-3 down in the third set. Not sure what is going on but the top seeds are dropping like flies at this tournament.
