Juan Monaco will try to pick up the pieces of his fall hard-court season with an attempt at the If Stockholm Open. The Argentine retired in the second round of Tokyo with an injury.
Argentina’s Juan Monaco gamely enters tournaments on fast surfaces, but he has rarely found any success there. This year is no exception to that rule. Monaco has had excellent results on the dirt in 2009. Three finals in smaller clay-court tournaments and even a quarterfinal showing at the Rome Masters have helped to keep his ranking in the top 30 (he is 28th in the world at the moment).
On other surfaces, however, the Argentine struggles mightily. The last time the Argie won more than one match in a row on something other than clay was back in 2008 - and even that was two qualifying matches to get into the main draw of the Paris Masters event.
Monaco’s opponent for Monday is the Czech player Jan Hernych, who is ranked 63rd in the world. Hernych is not a particularly consistent player. He has a losing record on the year (10-21) and he is rarely a threat to players ranked above him. The problem for Monaco is that Hernych is a hard-court player. Also, Monaco’s fitness for the tournament is somewhat in question. If he is not fully recovered from the injury that forced him out of Tokyo, he could be looking at another first-round exit.
Prediction - Hernych in straight sets.

The plenty viruses causing bad connections in midst the streams is going to be a catalyst of an upset in later years. I am surprised to be viewing J Mon & J Hen's match at the moment, thankfully, because I actually thought it stated something natured different. It was the first set, with 30 all, 0 - 2 to Mono, but it took that long to upload onto the web for a quick comment that I turned to it again, and it revealed 40/30 - 1 to 4 with Monaco leading. Thanks and the best luck for both:

TESTING:: It was a blast for J Mons loosing so early at the Shang Masters 09. Truthfully, I was not aware he would be. It is another set-back to view this event at 'If Stockholm..' needing to be a part of the betting institution. Fingers crossed.x.x
