Andy Murray will take on Spaniard Tommy Robredo for a place in the Indian Wells quarterfinals.
History does not favor Andy Murray in this round of 16 matchup. He has played Tommy Robredo twice and lost fairly emphatically both times (the meetings were on hard courts). Robredo has precisely the sort of patient baseline game that can trouble Murray. Players like Andy Roddick and even Roger Federer don’t tend to be a problem for the Scot. He simply feeds them varied shots with varied pace to throw them off-stride. That tactic does not work against Robredo because he doesn’t really use pace as a regular weapon.
The good news for Murray is that he has had similar problems with Rafael Nadal in the past, but has since beaten the Spaniard at the US Open. Murray has added a dimension of aggression to his game that could serve him well against Robredo, who he has not played since 2007.
Murray has been a bit off since getting sick at the Australian Open and he hasn’t been at his very best in Indian Wells. Still, his performance against Paul-Henri Mathieu in the third round was far better than what he offered against Albert Montanes in the second. Robredo will not fade away mentally; he will come into the match with the confidence of having beaten young Croat Marin Cilic in the third round.
The Spaniard will likely put up a good fight, but in the end, Murray should prevail.

Robredo is tougher than he gets credit for, that's for sure.

In the first set, dunno how badly injured Robredo was, but Murray was just too good. He's starting to look very impressive.

Dunno how much it was related to injury but robredo was making far too many errors than he usually makes. I still dont think murray hit top form yet but he still wins comfortably.

I'm predicting Murray for this one too, won't be easy though.
