Richard Gasquet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga both have a shot at making the Masters Cup, and a win in this tournament would be huge for either.
Rchard Gasquet should have an easy first round against Colombian clay-courter and qualifier Santiago Giraldo. Giraldo has a nice game to watch and tough to combat, but only on clay. Gasquet should have absolutely no problem winning this match, but then again, it IS a Gasquet match, so no one really knows what will happen.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga faces fellow Frenchman Marc Gicquel in the opening round Tuesday night. Gicquel's game is solid all around, but Tsonga should have far too much for last year's runner-up. They played each other in a few futures events back in 2003, but neither match matters much now. Gicquel will have to play an absolute blinder of a match to take this, but most likely, Gasquet and Tsonga will both advance.
Also playing is the crafty Fabrice Santoro against Fabio Fognini, while one of the biggest servers ever in Ivo Karlovic takes on Nicolas Lapentti. Santoro should outwit the young Italian Fognini, while Karlovic's fine indoor form combined with his killer serve should swing the pendulum of victory his way.

Did you know that... James Blake suffered from severe scoliosis as a teenager. He had to wear a back brace for 18 hours of the day because of it.
