  • Jo-Wilfried Tsonga takes on Tommy Robredo for a spot in the 4th round

    - In his first event back for months after his knee injury, Tsonga is looking to repeat his Australian Open form.

    In his first two matches, Tsonga has looked shaky and inconsistent due to lack of match play. Flashes of Australian Open brilliance mixed in with misfiring forehands. Towards the end of the Moya match in the 2nd round, Tsonga looked to be firing on most if not all cylinders. If he can bring that intensity and consistency to this match, watch out.

    Robredo is the type of opponent who will not give Tsonga anything. This match will rest entirely on how well the Frenchman is playing. If Tsonga is aggresive and throws down big serves, mixes it up with great baseline play and net work, he should dispatch of Robredo rather quickly. If he is missing from time to time and lets Tommy do what he wants, Robredo will tire him down and Tsonga will begin to get frustrated and miss more.

    All in all, Tsonga must do what he needs to do to take this match. Play his game, basically, and he should have no problems. If he is lax at all, however, Robredo will step up and take it.
