#2 Roger Federer (still weird to say) and #3 Novak Djokovic will look to keep up with Nadal in the third round.
Roger Federer has a fairly easy (at least on paper) match against Brazilian Thiago Alves. Alves took out Paul Capdeville in the first round and has a nice game to go with him. Despite how bad Roger's year has been, its still Roger Federer. Fed should have little to no trouble in dispatching of Alves, and this match should go much like his previous match against Maximo Gonzalez. A couple games of fight, some nice points, and a good experience for the opponent. Roger will get through in straights.
Novak Djokovic has a bit of a tougher time in his 2nd round encounter against Robert Kendrick. Most know Kendrick as the guy who took Nadal to 5 sets in an excellent match at Wimbledon in 2006. Kendrick has a fine serve, good hands at the net, and an overall rather aggresive gameplan. But again, its still Djokovic, World #3. Barring an unforeseen setback, Djokovic should also take this one. Kendrick may make things interesting due to the quick courts, his big serve, and the American home crowd, and may even squeak out a set. At the end of the day, though, Djokovic will sail through.
